STEPHEN GAMGEE
Director/Responsible Individual
Stephen has spent most of his life working with people who for one reason or another could be classed as ‘vulnerable’. This includes homeless people, people with alcohol or drug problems and people with mental health problems.
Stephen moved to Wales in 1993 as head of a Cardiff based charity for the homeless and for the next 16 years as its Chief Executive he developed it into one of the largest and most respected charities in Wales, operating throughout the country.
He believes that this was achieved by having principles and values and making them a practical reality.
He now wants to apply the same approach to people who need help to stay in their own home.
In 2008 he was awarded the MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

ISABEL MILLER
Chief Executive/Registered Manager
Isabel was born in South Africa and has had a successful career in banking which has given her many skills in administration.
On moving to Wales in August 2009 she wanted to develop a career with a social purpose. She became a carer in a social care agency and was rapidly promoted to Team Leader and equally rapidly acquired the level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Social Care Services.
Isabel shares with Stephen the wish to have a flexible service that puts our values into practice but also to have this service based on a platform of efficient administration.
Isabel was appointed as Chief Executive of Care in Wales Ltd in 2020 and continues to be the registered manager for all the services under the Care in Wales Ltd umbrella.

MEGAN LINTON
Administration Assistant
Megan left school wanting to pursue a career in sport coaching and performance and started her studies at the University of South Wales but soon realised that it was no longer the career path she was interested in.
She spent 3 years working for a local authority as part of the Care Finance team, where she gained an understanding of the care sector. Wanting to further develop her skills in business administration, Megan jumped at the opportunity to join the Care in Vale team as maternity cover for the Office Manager.
Megan has since been appointed in a full-time role as Administration Assistant supporting the operational side of the business.

TRUDI CANHAM
Training and Development Coordinator
Trudi lived in Spain for 15 years and is fluent in Spanish. Upon Trudi's return to the UK she found herself without 'direction' until she started to work for Care in Wales Ltd, where she felt she finally found somewhere that made her happy and where she could make a difference.
Trudi started working in the care sector as a Domiciliary Care Assistant and progressed to Training and Development Co-coordinator. Trudi is responsible for ensuring that all our new recruits successfully complete their induction and register with Social Care Wales.
Trudi really enjoys her role as she is able to support and mentor the new recruits and making sure that they work in line with our values and beliefs.

FERNANDO SANTARELLI
Team Leader
Fernando Santarelli is a dedicated healthcare professional with extensive experience in team leadership and a strong background in business administration.
As a Team Leader at Care in the Vale, Fernando excels in ensuring optimal outcomes for service users, offering valuable insights, and maintaining compliance with safeguarding policies. With a passion for enhancing the customer experience, Fernando is committed to delivering high-quality care and support.

GEMMA MCLAGGON
Team Leader
Gemma started working for Care in the Vale in 2013 as a Care Assistant with no experience in care. Gemma quickly progressed to a Senior Care Assistant after completing her QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
In 2018 Gemma was promoted to Team Leader and completed the QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care.
Gemma enjoys working with people and supporting them to remain living independently at home for as long as possible.

BETHAN FLETCHER
Care and Administration Coordinator
Bethan moved to Barry in 2018 and was new to the area and applied with a few agencies but felt Care in the Vale really stood out from the rest. Bethan said she was over the moon when she was initially appointed as our Service Coordinator.
Bethan has been working for Care in the Vale for over 3 years and was promoted to Team Leader in 2019. Bethan enjoys her role, especially working with the clients and staff and feels very valued as an employee and cannot imagine working anywhere else.

RYAN DOWNEY
Senior Care Assistant
Ryan is a Senior Care Assistant who work alongside the Team Leaders making sure that our Care Assistants are delivering care and support to our clients in line with our values.
Ryan has acquired his level 3 in Health and Social Care and has gained the necessary experience to ensure that the care we deliver is of a high standard and that we continue to deliver it consistently.

HEATHER LEWIS
Team Coach
Heather is a Team Coach who work alongside the Team Leaders making sure that our Care Assistants are delivering care and support to our clients in line with our values.
Heather has gained the necessary experience to ensure that the care we deliver is of a high standard and that we continue to deliver it consistently.

CHRIS STENT
Care Manager
For the last 15 years, Chris has worked with and supported various individuals to build and maintain their independence who had learning difficulties, physical disabilities and are elderly.
During this time he started off as a support worker and worked his way up to a manager and gained the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care.
Chris feels that being part of Care in Wales Ltd allows him to ensure that people will receive the quality of care they deserve and that as a company we can grow together in all the regions we operate.

JOANNE THOMPSON - VAUGHAN
Team Leader
Joanne Thompson is born and bred in Blaenau Gwent and still lives there today. Her passion for care relates back to her teenage years when Joanne used to volunteer as an assistant for a support scheme through the summer holidays.
Having both a passion in caring for people in different areas for years and her family relying on carers themselves, she puts everything into her job ensuring individuals are cared for in a way they like and to help them stay as independent as possible.
Joanne is dedicated to help build Care in Wales Ltd with a hands-on approach, providing excellent care and transferring these qualities across the up-and-coming areas.

KELLY GRAY
Care and Administration Coordinator
For the past 15 years Kelly has worked within Domiciliary and Residential care settings where she gained valuable experience. She continued her career in administration, where she became a clerical officer working in homeless prevention. Following a few years break to focus on her family, she joined Care in Wales as a Care administration coordinator.

STEPHANIE HOWE
Team Leader
Stephanie grew up in a small Welsh community in Mid Wales. She moved to Caerphilly in 2008 and started her career in childcare but wanted to make a difference in vulnerable adult's lives, so changed her career path to domiciliary care in 2012.
Stephanie started as a care worker and worked her way up to management level for various care providers. She joined Care in Wales Ltd in 2020 as Service Coordinator for Care in Caerphilly and Care in Blaenau Gwent.
Stephanie has been appointed as Team Leader in 2021 and is working alongside the Care Manager making sure that we continue to make that difference for the people we support.
